Alex Thompson

Current Position:

Alex Thompson is an attorney with Herr Pedersen & Berglund LLP. He received his license to practice law in 2011 and shortly thereafter began practicing, concentrating in civil litigation, public entity defense, and business advising. Alex has participated in representing individuals and entities in defending and prosecuting claims regarding construction defects, contract disputes, personal injuries, civil rights violations, and employment disputes. Additionally, he has advised individuals and entities regarding important business decisions relating to liability exposure. Alex graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with distinction in 2011. While at McGeorge, Alex was selected to compete in his school’s moot court program where he drafted and presented legal arguments in front of judges, professors, and other attorneys. Alex competed in the New York National and the Jessup International competitions. In the Jessup International competition, his team was recognized for its written work and awarded 4th place best brief for the Pacific Region. When Alex is not litigating, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four busy boys.

Alex is admitted to the State Bar of California and the United States District Court, Eastern District of California.

Education:

Alex received his Bachelors of Science in Business Management with an emphasis of Finance in 2006 from Brigham Young University – Idaho. While at BYU – Idaho he received first place in the Business Plan Competition, which is based on student-run businesses. In 2011, Alex graduated from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law with honors distinction. He was named as a member of the Traynor Society and participated in the highly competitive Moot Court Honors Board.
