Caren L. Curtiss

Current Position:

Caren Curtiss is an attorney with Herr Pedersen & Berglund LLP. Since joining the Firm in 1997, and continuing through 2011, she served as an ABA Certificated Paralegal. From 2011 to 2016, she served as a Certified Law Student and Law Clerk. In 2016, Caren received her license to practice law. Her practice focuses primarily on civil litigation in matters of business law, municipal law, public entity defense, personal injury and landlord/tenant.

Bar Admissions:

Caren is admitted to the State Bar of California and the United States District Court, Eastern District of California.

Education:

Caren began her law experience as a legal secretary in 1981. Thereafter, she received her Associates of Science Degree and American Bar Association Certificate of Paralegalism from the College of the Sequoias. In 2014, while serving as a Certified Law Student, Caren was appointed a Special Master by the Tulare County Superior Court. She has also served to provide training to members of the California Law Enforcement Association of Records Supervisors in responding to criminal and civil subpoenas and to requests made under the California Public Records Act. Caren earned her Juris Doctorate degree from San Joaquin College of Law in Fresno where she received two Witkin Awards for Academic Achievement in Public Entity Liability and Civil Trial Practice. In November 2016, she was admitted to the California State Bar .
